Decrying fanatical extremists’ acts of violence is no longer enough for moderate American Muslims.
Every time there is another act of senseless violence by fanatical extremists, the moderate American Muslim community condemns the killing. That is good but it is no longer enough to absolve the Muslim religion of some responsibility for the actions of a few. The reason is simple—there are far too many Mullahs in the US preaching hatred for America and inciting acts of violence against non-believers. Preaching hatred of America is not a crime. We have politicians in Washington that do that. However, any religion or school that promotes acts of violence against others must be reported and prosecuted to the full extent of the law.
It is way past time that the moderate Muslims stand up against these hate mongers, leave those Mosques and identify those that incite their members to violence to federal authorities. We are at war with Muslim extremists. They have been at war with the United States for years before 2001. There are other religions that foster hatred of America and our way of life. If they preach violence against the government or individuals they too must be prosected.
In the Constitution the 1st Amendment allows for freedom of speech but it is not a suicide pact. It does not in any way protect the rights of those that would inspire others to kill innocent men, women and children. If American Muslims expect to receive the respect that other religions get, they must do what they can to prevent killings of Americans or anyone else by fundamentalists within their sect.
But that is not enough. Since we are at war with Muslim extremists, it is about time that the federal government acts like we are. The government from the President down to the local judges must renounce political correctness and do their job the way that the laws and the Constitution demands them to do. There is no way we can win the war against these terrorists by being so enslaved to the concept of “political correctness” and diversity that we look the other way when confronted by extremism. DO YOUR JOB!
If the police or FBI receives leads to anyone conspiring to kill others, they must be arrested and prosecuted to the full extent of the law regardless of race, religion or national origin. That means that all of us have to be less worried about being sued for discrimination. The courts are going to have to become serious about protecting whistle blowers against religious zealots just as they are about whistle blowers in reporting government fraud and abuse.
Every indication from the Ft. Hood massacre is that Maj. Hasan was known to be more than sympathetic to the cause of the terrorists. Those that worked with him reportedly heard him supporting the right of the terrorists to attack and kill Americans. There are also reports that some of those members of the armed forces reported these conversations to their superiors. And yet, Maj. Hasan was permitted to stay in the military and allowed to “help” those coming back from the war front deal with their experiences. I can not help but wonder if Hasan helped or made things worse to those that he had pledged to do no harm.
How was Hasan allowed to kill the best and bravest of the men and women that volunteered to defend our freedom? Authorities need to find out who made the decision to allow him to stay in the military and put him in a position to kill and injure so many. Anyone that knew about Hasan’s beliefs and facilitated his ability to carry out these murders should also be prosecuted.
President Obama said the cause of the attack was “inexplicable.” That is CRAP. He knows what caused it just like anyone with an IQ over 8 does. It was an act of Islamic terrorism on US soil But Obama can’t say that because Bush protected us from such attacks for 7 years. This happened on Obama’s watch after just 9 months in office. This is not a coincidence. The liberals like Obama have spent those 9 months rolling back as many of the Bush anti-terrorism programs as possible. The result of than and the blindness that political correctness causes is 13 of our best and bravest dead and many more injured.
Obama refuses to use the phrase “war on terrorism” let alone make decisions necessary to protect our troops and win the war. He needs to get a backbone. He is the Commander in Chief and should begin to act like it. On every international front he is being humiliated by his indecision and lack of experience. He is making things worse not better by apologizing for real or perceived sins. The rest of the world, particularly the Muslim nations, view his lack of action and apologizes as weakness. Weakness in a President of the US is never good. Weakness in a President during wartime gets people killed.
The liberal Democrats in Congress are systematically weakening the Patriot Act. I question their motives. Why is it that our elected leaders want to change a series of laws that have prevented any attacks on US soil since 2001? I believe that their motives are purely political—to satisfy the far left base of the party. If that is the case, we need to remove those representatives and replace them with those that will vote to protect our people rather than their political re-election donations.
It is time that we all demand more from our leaders at all levels to do whatever it takes to insure that we here at home are protected and terrorism is defeated. The first and most important duty of the federal government is to protect us from enemies foreign and domestic. Before you take over the health care of this country which is totally unconstitutional, do your Constitutionally required job and stop trying to weaken our defenses and get more of us killed!
